Being A Photographer During Corona

I gotta say that being a “photographer” during this very interesting time in the world has been… well… INTERESTING, to say the least lol!

Here are 5 things that I’ve been doing involving my camera and social distancing:

- Re-Editing Old Photos

I’ve been going back to old shoots that I’ve done and re-editing some of those photos. This is a great way for any level photographer to enhance on their editing skills.

Here's some before and after shots (these are from 2018):

- YouTube/Build It Series

I now have a whole tab dedicated to this series, but if you’re new here, I’ve been renovating my basement into a cake space for my mom and her cake business, and a photo side/space for me and my photography needs. Read this blog post on the process linked below, and here’s one of my videos where I give you all a mini tour of the renovated basement.

- FaceTime Photoshoots

Now, I’m not going to lie and say that I’ve accomplished this shoot yet, but I can assure you all that my good friend Phoebe and I are going to come to you all very soon with the results of how our FaceTime Photoshoot came out…. So stay tuned!

- Doing Indoor Shoots

If you love outdoor photography like myself, maybe it’s time to work and enhance on your indoor photography as well. I have been doing many indoor shoots involving myself and the family over the past two months in Quarantine, and here’s how they came out!

- Taking A Break

At the end of the day, I have been social distancing and not taking professional pictures of anyone or anything lately. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I missed it, and shoutout to all the photographers who are still working with people, but I’d rather wait it out a bit more, especially since the Pandemic has been quite high in the New England area. However, there are still shoots planned with people, and hopefully I will be able to get the ball rolling on taking pictures quite soon. Plus, I finally graduated college, and these past few months were no joke. I am happy to graduate with Magna Cum Laude, and if you’re wondering, I majored and got a B.A in Communication with a Concentration in Film, and a Minor in Black Studies #Classof2020

- Quarantine Film Festival Video (school project)

For my film class, all the classmates and I had to do and participate in this free student film festival involving the themes of quarantine, and how young people all around the world are handling/processing it. Mine is quick, and it was quite hard to push myself to film something that mainly had to be indoors, but here’s my take on the Pandemic:

Overall, hang in there if you are a business owner or really, anyone else who's waiting on the world to be good again (which I guess is technically everyone). Life as we know it will hopefully be back soon... for now... we'll go with #goodthingstaketime
